Description

The City of Dublin is accepting applications for a team member with a positive attitude and initiative for the postion of full time Certified Police Officer. This person will perform law, traffic and criminal investigations work. Performs duties which provide protection of life and property; enforcement of federal, state, and local laws; response to emergency situations; investigation of criminal activity; intervention in criminal activity; provide crime prevention information and proactive patrol. Assignment to specialized units within the Department include Support Services, Housing Authority, School Resource Officer, Special Operations Unit, or others. Work is performed according to established policies and procedures; therefore, a Police Officer must be able to exercise sound judgment, especially in emergency situations. Work requires tactful, conscientiousness, effective and efficient performance of duties with minimum supervision and contains a substantial element of personal risk. An employee in this position may be required to use force to affect an arrest, protect him or herself, or protect others. 

Starting salary is $51,632.05 annually for a POST Certified Officer or $45, 624.48 annually for uncertified.  An extensive fringe benefit package is also offered.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must be 21 years old and possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. and a valid Georgia driver’s license.

Successful applicant must pass a drug screen, Polygraph exam, physical agility test, and psychological exam.
