FIRE SAFETY

FIRE INSPECTIONS

Along with City of Dublin Planning and Development Department, Dublin Fire Code Official performs plan reviews and conducts construction inspections for all new developments and commercial buildings; such "new construction" inspections include renovations and remodels of existing buildings. Reviews are also made of significant modifications to fire protection systems (fire sprinklers, fire alarms, cooking suppression, clean agent, etc).

Please visit City of Dublin Planning and Development Department for more information regarding the Plan Review and Permit Process.

In addition to "new construction" inspections, the Dublin Fire Code Official is responsible for inspection of existing buildings and structures. Existing building inspections educate owners and/or staff on various fire hazards as well as identify fire code violations, thereby reducing the risk of a fire. Detailed records are retained to identify and mitigate recurring issues.

For more information regarding "existing building" inspections, please contact the Dublin Fire Code Official.

PRIVATE FIRE HYDRANTS

All fire hydrants that are not located in the public right of way are considered private fire hydrants of the property owner. Therefore, property owners are responsible for the testing and maintenance of the fire hydrant. Such testing and maintenance must be completed by qualified subcontractors or by scheduling an appointment with the Dublin Fire Code Official. As with other systems, private fire hydrants require availability to the Dublin Fire Code Official.

Please complete the Hydrant Logging Form to submit records direction to the Dublin Fire Code Official regarding all Private Fire Hydrants.

KNOXBOX

KnoxBox are secure key boxes available for commercial and residential locations. In the event of and emergency, KnoxBox key boxes allow Dublin Fire Department private access to keys to a location for emergency services at any time. KnoxBox key boxes may be connected to a location's fire alarm system, and when opened, will transmit a signal of opening to a monitoring company. For more information regarding the KnoxBox here.
