The City of Dublin, Georgia, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) in the amount of $939,537. This significant funding, provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and administered through the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA), will be used to complete essential road and drainage improvements on West Mary Street.

The project is aimed at addressing several critical issues for the neighborhoods connected by West Mary Street, including storm drainage and street conditions.  These problems lead to frequent flooding, making the street impassable during heavy rain and unsafe for pedestrians.

The City of Dublin’s Engineering Department has identified that the existing conditions can be significantly improved through the resurfacing of the street, the construction of sidewalks, and the installation of a new storm drainage system. These improvements are expected to enhance the health, safety, and overall quality of life for  residents in the area.

“The City of Dublin is committed to improving our community’s infrastructure. This grant will fund stormwater and street upgrades that will improve the safety and quality of life in the West Mary Street neighborhood. We extend our thanks to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs for recognizing the importance of this project and providing the funds to see it through to completion,” said Dublin Mayor Joshua Kight.
