Dublin Water Conservation During Hurricane Helene

Press Release from City Manager, Josh W. Powell.
September 27, 2024
Water Conservation Request:
Like many others in town, our water plants lost power due to Hurricane Helene. The water plants remain without power and we are limited as to the amount of water that can be treated for consumption. As a result of this, all customers of the City of Dublin water utilities are requested to reduce their water consumption to only what is necessary. Please avoid washing laundry, using the dishwasher, taking long showers, or leaving the faucet on while brushing your teeth. All landscape irrigation that is sourced by the City of Dublin Water Utility should cease until further notice.
Dangerous Conditions Alert:
Today emergency response teams worked to clear major corridors in our community. Many trees remain that are currently obstructing roadways. Crews will resume work to clear these obstructions tomorrow morning. Citizens are requested to avoid any areas with downed power lines and trees and avoid areas where emergency response crews are working so they can safely and more quickly do their work. We do not know when power in the city will be restored, but please know Georgia Power is bringing in additional crews to work in our community tomorrow. Today, Georgia Power’s work was primarily focused on assessing the damage and determining the materials and crews needed.
